NAMM 2020: Waves drops brand new OVox vocal resynthesizer plugin

Day one of NAMM 2020 is drawing to a close, and music equipment companies from across the globe are gathered together in Anaheim, California to showcase what they’ve got coming in the year ahead of us. One of those companies with something brand new to deliver is none other than Waves Audio. Just announced today is OVox — a plugin that lets your voice be in control of the music you make.

Within OVox, at the face-level, are two unique re-synthesizers that you can open individually, and load presets or fine-tune for the desired vocoder style effect. Some of the available presets upon downloading OVox, include imitators such as ‘California,’ an emulator for Tupac’s vocal hook on “California Love.” Or multiple others that can effectively recreate vocal effects popularized by groups like Daft Punk.

When effects are loaded into each ‘OVOX’ tank, they can be combined together, tuned, and volume adjusted. Additionally, users can use a built-in automatic note mapper to achieve a natural-sounding, or harsh T-Pain type of vocal re-tuning. Other parameters such as EQ, sibilance correction, and overall tone adjusting can be tweaked as well.

The all-new Waves OVox plugin was released by the company for immediate download, and at a pretty low introductory price of just $69.99. With all of the in-depth features that OVox Vocal Resynthesizer includes, Waves attached a super palatte-able price tag from the start. After the introductory period ends however, its MSRP will skyrocket to $150. So if you’re looking for a new detailed vocal resynthesizer, you’d better take full advantage while you can. To learn more for yourself about Waves’ OVox Vocal Resynthesizer, or to download it for yourself, you can head straight to its dedicated page on the Waves Audio website.
