NAMM 2025: Fender Standard Series, wallet-friendly classics

With the launch of the Fender Standard Series the company is keeping on with tradition while offering some of their all-time classics at a modest price point.

There are five in the line – the Telecaster, two Stratocasters (SSS and SSH), and the Jazz and Precision bass guitars. Each model has die-cast steel tuners and hex-style control knobs.

2025 Fender Standard features

Each model in the line has a poplar body with bolt-on maple neck. Fretboards are either maple or Indian laurel. As for the necks, they’re a Modern-C profile with a smooth satin finish.

Keeping with Fender tradition the guitars have a 25.5″ scale length with a 9.5″ radius fretboard and the basses have a 34″ scale.

The Stratocasters sport the standard two-point synchronized tremolo system that stays its tune even after more extreme bends.

Each Telecaster has the modern string-through body and chrome six-saddle bridge. Rounding out the Telecaster appointments are the classic volume and tone controls and three-way metal plate pickup switch.

2025 Fender Standard finishes

Standard Series Stratocasters come in classic finishes you expect from Fender like Olympic White, Three-Color Sunburst, Candy Cola, Aquamarine Metallic, and classic Black.

Telecaster finishes come in traditional Butterscotch Blonde, Three-Color Sunburst, Olympic White, and Aquamarine Metallic.

The bass guitars come in Black, Olympic White, Three-Color Sunburst, and Aquamarine Metallic for the Jazz model and Black, Olympic White, Three-Color Sunburst, and Candy Cola for the Precision.

Summary

Squier has certainly made waves recently with the increased quality – and cost – of their guitars. The stigma of a “lesser” model is pretty much gone these days. But some players still want an iconic logo on their headstock.

If you’re a discerning player that needs Fender on your guitar, the Modern Series was made for you.

The Fender Standard Series is available for $599. On preorder now, shipping February. Visit the Fender site for more details.
