The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT headphones are a modern take on the classic M50x’s

Audio-Technica has developed an incredible reputation among music producers, engineers and fans alike for many years as one of the leading manufacturers of amazing gear. One of the most popular products it has released in past years has been the M50x studio monitoring headphones, which are now widely known as one of the go-to headphones for comfort, affordability and fidelity, and Audio-Technica’s best selling item. Recently, Audio-Technica gave the M50x an upgrade with some new technology allowing for wireless adaptability. Introducing the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT.

The technology inside the new design includes Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, as well as touch controls for the user to access either Siri or Google assistants from their smart devices as well as a microphone for voice commands. Volume control and playback buttons have also been included on the new headset for ease of use.

Internally, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT headphones sport a powerhouse DC3.7 V lithium polymer battery, allowing up to a whopping 40 hours of continuous use and playback off of one charge. It is also compatible with aptX and AAC codec types. This, and everything else above absolutely sets these headphones apart from most other wireless, Bluetooth headphones which typically are not equipped well enough to process the high sample rates of your DAW session in real time.

Aside from that, the ATH-M50xBT headphones include all the same internal features, frequency range, and speakers as their wired counterpart. But for ease of use, and the ability to keep the same amazing internal specifications, we absolutely deem this a fantastic deal.

Price

For everything included above, you might initially assume the brand new headphones from Audio-Technica would cost an arm and a leg, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. You can now get a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT headphones for yourself at a modest price of just $199 on Amazon.com. If you need to read up some more on the specifications and other information before you buy, just head over to its information page on the Audio-Technica website where they have it all spelled out. And, of course, Audio-Technica continues to offer the wired Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones, which you can buy for yourself here.
