Ibanez launches six new AZ Premium and RG Premium electric guitars

Alongside its new acoustic guitars and basses, Ibanez has launched a slew of new electric guitars. The new guitars all fall in Ibanez’s AZ Premium and RG Premium lines, and boast premium features, a high-end build, and more. In fact, the new lineup includes the first-ever AZ premium 7-string guitar.

Here’s a rundown of Ibanez’s new electric guitars and what they have to offer.

Ibanez AZ Premium electric guitars

Ibanez is launching three new AZ Premium electric guitars. Here’s what they offer, and how much they cost.

Ibanez AZ47P1QM

Ibanez AZ47P1QMThe first new electric guitar on the list is the Ibanez AZ47P1QM. This guitar offers an AZ Oval roasted Maple neck, with a basswood body and quilted American Mapel top. The fretboard is Ebony, and the guitar offers Mother of Pearl dot inlay.

When it comes to pickups, you’ll get a DiMarzio Air Norton (H) neck pickup, a DiMarzio True Velvet (S) middle pickup, and a DiMarzio The Tone Zone (H) bridge pickup. The guitar has beautiful gold hardware throughout, including the Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads. That’s coupled with the Black Ice Burst finish. The guitar has an estimated list price of $1,866.65.

Ibanez AZ42P1

Ibanez AZ42P1Next up is the Ibanez AZ42P1, which also has an Oval C Maple neck, with an American Basswood body. This guitar offers jumbo stainless steel frets, with a Graph Tech nut. This guitar has two Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, with a Dyna-Mix10 switching system. The hardware is Chrome, and is made up of a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads. The guitar comes at an estimated street price of $1,733.32. It comes in a Black finish.

Ibanez AZ427P1PBLast but not least in the Ibanez AZ Premium series is the new Ibanez AZ427P1PB. The guitar has a Basswood body with a Poplar Burl top, and a Rosewood fretboard with Jumbo stainless steel frets. The guitar has two Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, with a Dyna-MIX10 switching system. The hardware is also Chrome, and includes a Gotoh T1572S tremolo bridge and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads. This guitar comes at a list price of $1,933.32, and comes in a Charcoal Black Burst finish.

There are also three new offerings in the Ibanez RG Premium series. Here’s everything you need to know.

Ibanez RGT1220PB

Ibanez RGT1220PBThe Ibanez RGT1220PB is built with a Wizard III 7-pc Maple and Walnut neck-through, along with an American Basswood body with a Poplar burl top. The guitar has an Eboy fretboard, with an Acrylic and Abalone block inlay, and jumbo stainless steel frets with Ibanez’s Premium fret edge treatment.

The guitar has two pickups, including a DiMarzio Air Norton neck pickup, and a DiMarzio The Tone Zome bridge pickup. The hardware on this guitar is gold. The guitar comes in a beautiful Antique Brown Stained finish, and has a list price of $2,066.65.

Ibanez RGT1221PB

Ibanez RGT1221PBThe Ibanez RGT1221PB is almost the same as the RGT1220PB, but has a mono-rail bridge, and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads. Also, this guitar comes in a Deep Twighlight Fade, and has a list price of $1,928.88.

Ibanez RGT1270PB

Ibanez RGT1270PBLast but not least is the Ibanez RGT1270PB, which is built from many of the same materials as the last two guitars but has three pickups instead of two, adding a DiMarzio True Velvet middle pickup to the mix. It also has cosmo black hardware, and comes in a Deep Twighlight Fade, at a list price of $2,066.65.
