Believe in Music 2022: Seamlessly route audio between apps using Blue Cat’s Connector

Kicking off the new products list of NAMM’s Believe in Music event 2022, is Blue Cat Audio. The company just dropped its latest plugin product, called Blue Cat’s Connector. While its efforts at face value may appear to some as simple, this plugin may actually solve many of the audio routing issues facing many. Whether one is routing signal internally or between applications, Blue Cat’s Connector is finally here to save the day. Let’s dive into Blue Cat’s Connector, and provide some examples of where it could become quite useful.

Blue Cat’s Connector

Blue Cat Audio created ‘Connector’ with the sole purpose of routing audio from point A to point B. However, this breaks new ground with those who have struggled in the past to route a live connection between two separate applications. Blue Cat’s Connector accomplishes this by using two separate instances of the same plugin, loaded up separately. The first instance, wherever preferred, would be designated as the ‘send,’ and can have the output level adjusted accordingly.

Users can route both audio and MIDI signals within the same app, to a different app, or even to a separate computer on the same network. This is selected at the top of the plugin, using the three icons associated with each option. The ‘receive’ plugin, on the other hand takes that audio in with as low as zero latency. Additionally, one can use the plugin to adjust its receive signal, and through levels accordingly to achieve the perfect audible signals.

If you happen to be a producer, who has ever wanted to record one DAW’s effects within another DAW, this plugin is definitely for you. Additionally, Blue Cat’s Connector provides solutions for sending DAW signals to content creation apps like OBS Studio, or Zoom conferencing. Blue Cat’s Connector can be yours for just $49, but the company has a special starter price of $39 for those ready to dive in.
