All Things Gear’s Best of CES 2025

Here at All Things Gear, we’re typically focused on music production and musical instruments. However, the audio world in general is rapidly evolving, and at CES 2025, we saw a range of new technologies and products that not only could influence future music production gear but also serve as the way for many folks to consume the songs that we produce in their day-to-day life.

There were a ton of awesome new products at CES 2025, which we attended in person. Here are some of the best audio releases from the big show.

Hisense HT Saturn

The Hisense HT Saturn is a new surround sound system that’s designed to produce a cinematic experience in the comfort of your living room. It supports audio formats like Dolby Atmos and:X, essentially surrounding viewers with D sound in an impressively immersive way. It’s also designed for a modern listening experience and includes four wireless satellite speakers and a 6.5-inch subwoofer, making placement easy without having to too much about cables.

JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition

JLab Audio made big waves at CES 2025 too. JLab Audio is known for its affordable yet relatively high-quality headphones, and the JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition headphones are a perfect example of that. The headphones come in at only around $200, and they support a range high-end features, including spatial audio with head tracking and wireless charging through the included charging puck. They also offer adaptive noise cancellation, 32mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth multi-point, and a battery life of over 60 hours with noise cancellation enabled.

Shokz OpenFit 2

Shokz is bringing its bone conduction technology to the next level with the Shokz OpenFit 2 bone conduction headphones These headphones are built for runners and others who want an open-ear experience. Not only do they leverage bone conduction technology, but they also have directional speakers built into them to complement the bone conduction drivers for a more full-range sound.

Sonus Faber Suprema

Technically, the Sonus Faber Suprema speakers aren’t new, but I got to experience them for the first time personally at CES 2025, and they’re absolutely stunning. The speakers certainly aren’t cheap, at $750,000. But as is usually the case, you get what you pay for. The speakers are incredibly detailed, with booming deep bass, while still retaining plenty of space for everything to sound defined and precise. They’re not for everyone, but if you happen to have some cash to spend, they’re absolutely worth it.

Technics EAH-AZ100

Technics is following up its much-loved EAH-AZ80 earbuds with the new EAH-AZ100 buds. These earbuds take things to the next level with even better audio quality for earbuds in their price range. I’ve been testing them for a and them indeed offer more detailed audio overall, which says a lot considering how great the EAH-AZ80 earbuds already were. Not only that, but the new buds are also a little smaller, plus they have better battery life, along with slightly noise cancellation technology.

Christian de Looper

Christian de Looper was born in Canberra Australia, and since then has lived in Europe and now lives in sunny California. When he's not tinkering with the latest music gear, Christian is devouring news on new consumer technology.
