Dave Smith Instruments announces Pro 2 synthesizer

A couple days ago, Dave Smith Instruments started teasing their next synthesizer. Well, that new synthesizer is here. Introducing the Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2.

The Pro 2 features four digital oscillators, innovated largely by Dave Smith himself, plus a sub-oscillator. It also features a new dual mode analog filter with both a ladder and a state variable. There are also a couple touch strips, like those featured in the Tempest and Prophet-12.

According to Dave Smith, this is his “most powerful mono synthesizer ever”, and it has a similar playability to the classic Prophet-12 synthesizer, but has much different characteristics due to the new dual analog filter. The device also features an advanced 32 step sequencer with 16 tracks.

The device will set you back a cool $1999, and while it is not yet on sale, you can buy other Dave Smith Instruments synths here. Check out the video below for more info!
