Believe in Music 2022: Casio Casiotone CT-S1000V brings music to pre-programmed words

The end of January, and Believe in Music is always the biggest time of year for major product announcements from music’s top manufacturers. Falling right in line this year is Casio, which just announced its main product to start off 2022 right. The Casiotone CT-S1000V is a 61-key vocal synthesizer with plenty of features to play with. The best part however, is that using the keyboard requires no microphones for synthesis. We’ll tell you what we mean, as we break down this new instrument below.

Casio Casiotone CT-S1000V

The Casiotone CT-S1000V’s users can program words and phrases using a smart device, which the instrument then maps out to any note, or chord played on the keyboard. On a smartphone, the player uses Casio’s free MusicSpace app to create any word or phrase combos they want to. The CT-S1000V automatically picks these up with the help of an included bluetooth adapter, which can then be played out instantly. Additionally, these phrases can be triggered by each note pressed from either each phrase’s beginning, or divided by vowels.

Musicians can jump through presets, and all of CT-S1000V’s extra features all using the main display front and center. Off to the side, a jog wheel helps with this navigation even moreso. The latest Casiotone synth comes pre-loaded with 800 different voices to choose from, all of which are customizable by parameters like tone and age. A selection of vintage instruments can also be loaded up for an instrumental accompaniment to synthesized vocals in real time. When everything is ready, a six-track sequencer is ready to capture your recordings, and store them in-house.

The Casiotone CT-S1000V will be available soon, priced at just $449. Considering everything it brings to the table, this is an incredible value. For now though, we can’t wait to hear all the incredible music to come, using this intuitive new vocal synthesizer.
