Introducing ReClouder: an all-in-one recording, storing, and backup box

Every so often a smaller, start-up piece of hardware will hit the market that offers complete simplicity and ease-of-use to an entire market. Well, that time is upon us once again with the introduction of ReClouder — an all-in-one recording box that brings recording and saving just a few seconds apart from each other without any need for DAWs, plugins, or any other bells and whistles.

The set-up for recording with ReClouder could not get much easier. There is a single combo mic/line input jack on the left hand side (with phantom power capability), allowing users the option to use whichever they choose. Although, when recording as a small band, the singer will need to use this since it offers the only recordable XLR input available. On the next side of ReClouder, users will find two 1/4″ input jacks which can be used for any instruments. Although this is limited to just two channels, multiple additional inputs are available if you have multiple ReClouders handy and connect them all via Bluetooth.

Right next to the hard-wired 1/4″ inputs are two more jacks for a mic output, and a headphone output. One more turn of the unit will show yet another combo input which is used as a “thru” output for monitoring, or anything else one might need. Right at the top of the ReClouder’s face is a big button that says “Rec,” and “Start/Stop.” Very bold, eye catching, and self-explanatory. Finally, a gain knob around the same size sits on top of that to adjust the gain of the input channels before hitting record.

This box records audio up to 24bit/96kHz in lossless audio, which automatically saves directly to its internal SD card, but can also be uploaded to cloud storage using its WiFi capabilities. Power wise, it runs on three AAA batteries, but also includes a microUSB port for some extra battery life. Although some of these features may seem outdated to some, it provides a much simpler solution for home recording that many solo artists and bands might need. Although not yet on the market and still in development, ReClouder is sure to release even more details regarding pricing and availability very soon, so stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime if you would like to learn even more, you can head straight to the ReClouder website to take in as much information as you can.
