NAMM 2026: DW’s MFG True-Cast piccolo snare is a thing of beauty

Drum Workshop has released the latest snare drum in their True-Cast line, the Limited Edition MFG True-Cast Snare Drum. DW designed it in tandem with signature artist Dave Ellitch, and it’s the first piccolo snare drum in the True-Cast product lineup.

Quality build

This precision-engineered 4×14” snare has a machined and sand-cast shell in Bell Bronze. The shape of the interior is contoured with measurements that range from 5mm at the top and bottom and tapers down to 3mm in the center.

Two-piece, machined Brass Mini Turret lugs have dual lug receivers, and the counter hoops provide great volume and dynamic attack. It supports a wide range of tunings, which adds to its versatility.

The throw-off is machined Brass Mini MAG and has a matching butt plate. Underneath it’s designed with True Pitch tension rods and True-Tone 20-strand snare wires.
